Eat that for 30 days and replace one pound of fat with a pound of muscle. At least that's what science says. Here's what this is about.

The next study and its results may seem strange, but they are intriguing.

Researchers at the University of Palermo recruited 23 people between the ages of 18 and 65 and gave them 12 green olives a day for 30 days. Amazingly, the percentages of fat have declined by an average of 1.7% and muscle mass increased by an average of 1.39%.

In figures, participants shed an average of 1kg of fat and replaced it with the same amount of muscle without changes in physical exercise and diet.

What they were following?
The researchers tested the nocellara del Belice olives for antioxidant, probiotic and anti-inflammatory properties. They did not find probiotic effects but found anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects. Both interleukin-6 (an inflammatory factor) and malondialdehyde (a marker of free radicals) decreased. Of course, you can expect such results if you constantly eat any fruit or vegetable.

But none of these effects were so powerful that they explain the change in body composition.


What happened?
It is believed that the results are related to a certain fatty acid: "Effects can be related to the ability of conjugated linoleic acid to reduce fatty fat. Acid is present both in olive oil and olives and can be produced over time what are digested. "
